There is no doubt that exercise is great for our health. There is mountains of research proving that it’s great for improving quality of sleep, burning fat, and increasing your energy…
The #1 problem with exercise is that if you perform the wrong types of exercise, then you can hurt your joints and prevent your body from burning fat…
Let me ask you a question. Would you rather exercise because you’re going to see a benefit such as losing weight or improving your energy levels? OR… Would you like to exercise just for the sake of killing time?
Even if you’re just going for a walk, you have something you want to accomplish, weather it’s getting fresh air or loosening up your body to relieve stiffness.
I want to share a couple styles of exercise that you should avoid doing because they can actually do you more hard than good.
Extended Cardio Sessions
Cadio is a weak style of exercise because it doesn’t help you body build muscle to burn more fat. These cardio sessions can be boring and hard to stick to for the long term. If you go to the gym for a cardio session you’ll likely be there for up to an hour.
This type of exercise can take up more than 3 hours of your time each week. That’s a long 3 hours, especially if you don’t enjoy the type of exercises you’re doing.
It’s very important to perform exercises that can help you build muscle so you can keep your strength up as you age. After the age of 30 we start losing muscle year after year if you don’t maintain it.
Spot Reducing Exercises
Nearly every time I’m working with a client for incorporating an exercise regimen, i’m always asked what type of exercises can reduce belly fat, arm fat, or leg fat. Unfortunately you can not target a specific area of your body to lose weight.
You must consume the right foods and incorporate exercise routines that help burn the most fat. You can certainly work out your arms, however, without the effects of burning fat, your arms will start looking even bigger.
What Should I Do?
The best way to lose weight with exercise is to incorporate high intensity interval training or exercises that increase your heart rate to the max for 15-20 minutes. Leg exercises also can provide great overall weight loss results for your body.
My favorite types of exercises routines are in a program called SmartTraining, where you can discover how to start burning fat and toning your body. The best way to burn fat is by following intense exercise routines for 15 minutes, 3 times a week.
This way you can spend less time, get great results, and feel great knowing you’re following the right exercises to lose weight, improve your energy levels, and feel great!
What types of exercise do you like to incorporate? Do you like exercising at all? Would you prefer short exercise routines (15-20 minutes) or long exercise routines (1 Hour+)? ')}
