Do you want to lose weight but feel like every time you try to eat healthier, you always feel hungry? This is a popular problem that many men and women face when they first get started trying to lose weight. Luckily there are a few solutions that may help you curb your appetite and reduce hunger while eating a healthy diet.

The reason you feel hungry while eating healthier is because your body needs to adapt to your new eating routine. If you’re used to eating processed foods, eating junk, drinking soda, or eating too much fast food, then your body will need to get used to the higher quality foods that you’re eating.

I have a few strategies that I want to share with you that will help curb your appetite so that you feel fuller and less hungry.

Eat High Fiber Foods

When you eat foods that contain a lot of fiber, you not only cleanse your digestive tract but you’ll feel fuller for longer. Fiber helps slow digestion and glucose absorption down. Your blood sugar levels will remain balanced and you’ll feel fuller for longer when you eat fiber with your meal. Fiber is in all kinds of vegetables, quinoa, avocados, peas, nuts, and even dark chocolate.

Eat Low Glycemic Foods

The glycemic index is a scale that measures how quickly carbohydrates raise your blood sugar levels. Foods that are rated high on the glycemic index raise your blood sugar levels more rapidly and higher. Low glycemic foods keep your blood sugar levels low and help to fight off hunger. Research has shown that when you consume low glycemic foods, you consume less calories and you tend to have less body fat.

Eat Proteins and Fat

Eating protein and fat will help fill you up and fight off hunger. Protein is great for keeping you full because it takes longer to digest. Protein provides a feeling a fullness that will keep cravings away. Great sources of protein include grass bed beef, high quality chicken, feta cheese, eggs, and quinoa. Healthy fats are another phenomenal way to beat hunger. Incorporate nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados, coconut oil, and wild salmon. Protein and fat have shown in research to play a role in preventing obesity.

Eat Enough Food

Eating enough is important because if you eat too little, you’ll feel hungry, which will cause a lot of frustration on your healthy eating journey. It is important that you eat until you feel satisfied. Avoid eating too little or too much. Eating high quality foods until you feel satisfied is a powerful tactic that will work extraordinarily well for improving your health. ')}
