Aspartame is a very common artificial sweetener that can be found in over 6,000 products sold in grocery stores. Aspartame is consumed the most in diet soda products. This sweetener is the number 1 most consumed artificial sweetener in the United States.

Many people choose artificial sweeteners over sugar because the general population has been led to believe that artificial sweeteners are healthier.

Consuming aspartame can lead to several health problems. Headaches, weight gain, rashes, dizziness, depression, fatigue, joint pain, and several other health complications can be triggered from the consumption of aspartame. Aspartame is promoted to consumers to help them restrict their calories, which has now been proven to be a poor solution for losing weight.

Another serious problem associated with the consumption of aspartame is the depletion of serotonin from your brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate your mood. A dangerous ingredient in aspartame is methanol. Methanol can ultimately lead to several forms of cancers in the human body because methanol can not be metabolized.

Aspartame was originally developed by a chemist by the name of James Schlatter. Aspartame was originally developed as an anti-ulcer drug. This dug was sent to the FDA for approval so that it could be marketed to consumers but it was denied. It was denied because scientific evidence showed that this drug caused many side effects.

A new commissioner was assigned to the FDA and had aspartame re-evaluated by a 5 person panel, which denied aspartame again for the second time. The new commissioner of the FDA then assigned a sixth member to the panel who voted yes, which then led to the approval of aspartame. Once aspartame was approved, the sweetener was bought by Monsanto.

The bottom line is that aspartame should be completely avoided. There is a lot of risk involved with consuming it. There are several health complication that you’ll be at risk for including migraines, parkinsons, epilepsy, cancer, asthma, and brain tumors.

Aspartame can also cause weight gain because aspartame stimulates your appetite. You’ll experience cravings and increased fat storage.

How To Eliminate Aspartame

2. Increase your consumption of water to help detox your body from aspartame. Eat healthy whole foods that don’t contain aspartame.

3. Monitor yourself to ensure that you’re not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms include headaches, mood swings, tension, depression, and irritability to name just a few. These symptoms will go away after a few weeks.
