The types of foods that you eat for breakfast can either cause you to gain weight or lose it.
That’s why it’s extremely important to eat healthier foods for breakfast that help your body burn more fat. It’s very easy to grab something that’s unhealthy and easy to make, so it’s critical that you make smarter breakfast choices.
In most cases you’re better off eating nothing at all for breakfast if you’re contemplating cereal, flavored yogurts, or a processed breakfast bar.
If you’re hungry in the morning and want to get a great start to your day, then you must eat a healthy breakfast with high quality foods. Eating high quality foods for breakfast will keep you fuller for longer and help you lose weight.
There is a 3 step process that I like to share with our clients in our practice, which has helped our clients make smarter breakfast choices. This 3 step process makes it easy for anyone who wants to improve their health, eat a better meal for breakfast.
Step #1 Asses Your Breakfast
Think about what foods you’re currently eating each morning. You may want to write down in a journal the foods you’ve been eating so you can plan the upcoming days out better. There are a lot of foods you should avoid for breakfast.
We’ve been brain washed about breakfast because every time we see a commercial sharing a new breakfast yogurt or food, we always see the glass of orange juice, toast, and cereal.
The foods you want to avoid eating include cereals, pasteurized milks, pastries, danishes, coffee cakes, pop tarts, donuts, and processed toast. The main reason we tend to eat these foods is because they’re addicting and manipulating.
Food companies add the right amount of sugar, sodium, and fats to hijack our taste buds so that we’ll LOVE the foods they make.
Step #2 Choose Your Favorite Foods
Some of the best breakfast foods to eat include protein smoothies, fresh fruits, eggs, rolled oats, organic bacon, healthy waffles, blueberry pancakes, breakfast cookies, and even leftovers from the night before.
It’s important that you avoid any processed foods that come in a box. Everything that you eat for breakfast should be 1 ingredient. Or if you make a recipe you should be making it with all 1-ingredient foods. If you eat eggs, they’re a 1 ingredient food.
Step #3 Choose A Healthy Beverage
I receive a lot of questions about what to drink in the morning with breakfast, so here are the best options. The best drinks for breakfast are cold water, lemon water, fruit infused water, coffee, unsweetened iced tea, and unsweetened hot tea.
If you need to add something to your coffee, then coconut or almond milk is best. If you need a sweetener i’d recommend Stevia because it’s a much natural sweetener. Avoid any white sugars, and brown sugar. Stevia, honey, and coconut palm sugar are the best 3 sweeteners you can use.
Following these 3 steps will help you eat healthier foods, reduce inflammation, and boost your energy levels. What are your favorite foods to eat for breakfast? ')}
